Little Tupper Lake, part of the Whitney Wilderness, was acquired using the Environmental Protection Fund

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION FUND (EPF) AT RISK!

Last year, the Governor and Legislature took $125 million from the so-called "locked box" of the EPF to fund the State’s general operations. Now, Governor Paterson is proposing to remove another $50 million, reducing next year’s fund to just over $200 million.

Preserving a Legacy
Public Event
Monday, 10 November 2008
Our exhibit of paintings by noted regional artist Len Tantillo titled “Preserving a Legacy: A Celebration of the work of Paul Schaefer and L.F. Tantillo” concluded on October 16. We had a wonderful experience these past five weeks hosting the exhibit. Nearly 500 people visited the exhibit which showcased the life work of two New Yorkers, Schaefer’s work as a conservationist preserving our Adirondack traditions, designer and builder of homes in the Dutch style, and L. F. Tantillo’s love of history, our Dutch heritage and its influence on his work. The exhibit raised fresh awareness of AFPA throughout the Capital Region.
