About the Association |

Founded in 1901, The Association for the Protection of the Adirondacks is the longest-serving citizen advocacy organization for the Adirondack Park. The Association is non-profit, membership organization incorporated in New York. The Association employs public education, citizen action, public and private partnerships and strong advocacy to protect, enhance, and sustain the wild character, ecological integrity, and mutual well-being of the natural and human communities of the Adirondack region.
The Association has five full-time staff, 1 part-time staff, a Board of Trustees and a number of active committees, and operates the Center for the Forest Preserve, an Adirondack learning center and research library. |
