The Center for the Forest Preserve
The Center for the Forest Preserve, located in Niskayuna, NY, is owned and operated by the Association for the Protection of the Adirondacks. It combines the former home of the late Adirondack Wilderness coalition builder Paul Schaefer with modern meeting, exhibit space and a new Adirondack Research Library. In all, the Center provides space for:

  • Dialogue for policy-makers and conservation professionals;
  • Educational activities for young people;
  • Research services for students, writers, academics, and researchers;
  • Seminars, readings and cultural arts presentations and exhibits;
  • General interest programs, tours and interpretive walks.
