...to enable us to continue to play our unique historic leadership role as an advocate for the continued success of Article XIV of the New York State Constitution, the greatest forest protection covenant on this Planet Earth. By joining our Association, you cast your vote for the "forever wild" clause and for all who voice their concerns and their hopes for natural and human communities living and thriving together. It is both an historic and an urgent mission.

Your membership support helps to provide leadership in wild land science, advocacy education, research and outreach by:

  • Representing the Association before state agencies, legislators and policy makers responsible for the Park's enlightened stewardship and long-term protection
  • Hosting lectures, seminars and conferences to engage people in and out of the Adirondack region in a comprehensive review of critical issues, such as an energy policy for the Park
  • Publishing journals and special reports on important topics
  • Fostering collaborative efforts among diverse organizational partners, volunteers and citizen activists of all ages and backgrounds

New Members will receive a FREE Adirondack Paddler's Map. This full-color map of our magnificent Adirondack wilderness waterways is designed for canoe and kayak paddlers, but can easily be used by hikers and campers as well!
