Forest Preserve
Protecting the Forest Preserve and adhering to its "forever wild" mandate requires conservation and legal knowledge plus persistence, money and, above all, vigilance. The AFPA has been at the forefront of this important and public-spirited work for 107 years. This paper describes three examples of ongoing violations of the Forest Preserve that the AFPA currently is attempting to resolve. They concern Moreau Lake State Park, the Tahawus railroad and Indian Lake dam and the Indian River.
