Public Navigation Rights in New York State: What are they?

Public Navigation The Association for the Protection of the Adirondacks has issued a slim, easily read and informative fifteen-page brochure about the common law right of public travel on New York's freshwater rivers, streams, lakes and other waterways that are navigable-in-fact.

The questions and answers are designed to illuminate the legal nature of this right and to provide information about the circumstances under which it may be exercised.

This educational project is part of the Community Conservation program of the Association who thanks the American Conservation Association for its support of the printing of this brochure.

It is derived from a longer paper on this subject.
