Preserving a Legacy Print E-mail
Our exhibit of paintings by noted regional artist Len Tantillo titled “Preserving a Legacy: A Celebration of the work of Paul Schaefer and L.F. Tantillo” concluded on October 16. We had a wonderful experience these past five weeks hosting the exhibit. Nearly 500 people visited the exhibit which showcased the life work of two New Yorkers, Schaefer’s work as a conservationist preserving our Adirondack traditions, designer and builder of homes in the Dutch style, and L. F. Tantillo’s love of history, our Dutch heritage and its influence on his work. The exhibit raised fresh awareness of AFPA throughout the Capital Region. Len Tantillo spent hours talking with many of our visitors. Several dozen generous people donated wonderful works of art. Over 40 volunteers helped to meet and greet visitors.

So, thank you for visiting our exhibit, and thank you for helping to support the work of the AFPA. As Len Tantillo told us, it is through an appreciation of the arts and of New York’s history that many of us gain interest and passion in the past, present and future of great protected landscapes like the Adirondacks. We warmly thank Len Tantillo and exhibit curator Marijo Dougherty, our exhibit corporate sponsors and benefactors, the donors of the art and the more than 40 volunteers who helped to meet, greet and guide our many visitors.

AFPA is taking orders for prints of Len Tantillo’s paintings. All proceeds benefit the advocacy, conservation and education programs of AFPA. Please go to the website www.lftantillo.com to see his paintings. If interested in a print, please contact AFPA’s Karmel DeStefano at 518-377-1452, Ext. 3.
