A Special Evening on June 27 about the Leopold legacy:

Trustees and special friends of the Association are alerted and cordially invited to take advantage of a very rare opportunity — an evening with the Aldo Leopold Foundation on June 27, 2005 beginning at 6 pm at the Association's Center for the Forest Preserve in Niskayuna.

Aldo Leopold's son, Carl Leopold, is scheduled to be with us along with the foundation's executive director Buddy Huffaker. The purpose of our evening is to explore common ground, inspire each other and to share ideas for how the Association can advance the Leopold land ethic in the Adirondacks and Catskills. The Leopold Foundation is dedicated to advancing the rich legacy of Aldo Leopold, the father of modern ecology. The Leopold foundation is preparing to raise funds to restore the famous Leopold "shack" in northern Wisconsin and is excited to see what we have accomplished here at our Center.

An announcement about our Annual Meeting is now up on this site. Please join the Association for its 104th annual meeting on July 1 in Schenectady. A mailing about this meeting will reach you soon, but please go to the web site now for an agenda, RSVP and driving directions.

Our keynote speaker will be Charlie Fox, a top environmental advisor to Governor George Pataki. You won't want to miss our 104th annual meeting!
