Over 40,000 braved the cold winds and freezing temperatures in Washington, DC on Sunday February 17th as part of the Forward on Climate campaign to stand with climate change activist and author Bill Mckibben, 350.org, the Sierra Club, and many more organizations and indigenous peoples from across the U.S. and Canada, to demand action by President Barack Obama on climate change. The President is faced with a major decision, one of the biggest of his presidency, on whether or not to authorize the Keystone XL pipeline to transport oil from the tar sands of western Canada to the U.S. Protect the Adirondacks Executive Director Peter Bauer traveled to Washington and joined the march.
