WE DO……….

PROTECT THE ADIRONDACKS! IS LEADING THE LEGAL FIGHT AGAINST THE ADIRONDACK CLUB AND RESORT, THE BIGGEST THREAT TO THE PARK IN DECADES.

Our September 23rd post-hearing brief, prepared by our attorney, John Caffry,
shows that the Adirondack Park Agency must deny ACR’s application to build
almost 700 housing units just outside of Tupper Lake.

A sample of the reasons:

  • The project would violate several sections of the APA Act, the
    Environmental Conservation Law and Article 14 of the State
    constitution.
  • The alleged benefits have not been proven and the project will have
    adverse fiscal impacts on the local governments and taxpayers. Crucial
    IDA funding for the infrastructure is not likely to be available.
  • The ski area will lose money and the proposal does not guarantee that
    The ski area will remain available as a community resource.
  • The Applicant could not prove that promised jobs will actually be
    created. Many of those that will be created will not go to Adirondack
    residents and many more will not provide a living wage for families.
